EKEPA is an innovative tool inspired by the fundamental branches of philosophy; it is aimed at empowering educators by concretizing their Philosophy of Education. As educators, we all function according to a unique philosophy — our power, however, lies in explicitly defining, evaluating, and correcting it when necessary.

The process of EKEPA is rooted in the most fundamental questions we grapple with daily, or in some cases, take for granted. Philosophy is a scientific system which integrates all our answers into a single worldview, inescapably affecting the way we teach and the degree to which we are engaging and comprehensible to students.

EKEPA will help you develop your critical intelligence and detective skills as educators, inspiring students to do the same. For instance, recall how fascinating it is when students have finally understood how to utilize your pedagogical tools to connect seemingly unconnected ideas; their eureka moment depends on our responsibility as educators to inspire them in the correct direction.

The workshop structure

  1. Introduction: We will begin with an introduction to the theory behind EKEPA – what it stands for, how it is integrated, and the questions that pertain to each branch.
  2. Examination: We will then examine some common propositions, ideas, and principles that most of us subscribe to, but have failed to integrate into an interconnected system.
  3. Implementation: We will apply EKEPA to your subject of interest— whether in social studies, innovative education techniques — or a specific topic — such as equality, inclusion, the future of education, or technology.
  4. Feedback: To finish, we will survey your thinking and implementation processes and provide you with advice on how to improve your evaluations. During this phase, we will support you with ideas on how EKEPA can also be used by students in their process of studying.
